A barbecues area to combine pleasure with pleasure…

If there’s one area that represents the values of sharing and conviviality on the campsite, it’s the communal barbecues… Find out more about the concept of communal barbecues at the 3-star Iscle de Prelles campsite below.

A little poetry…

The barbecue area is right in the heart of the campsite. It smells of grilled meat, vegetables and fish – everything tastes good when it’s cooked over charcoal! It’s less poetic than everything’s better when it’s cooked over a wood fire, but I was looking for a rhyme!

Talking of rhymes, family camping rhymes so well with convivial camping, that our idea of a collective barbecue, which rhymes impeccably with an aperitif, is not limited to communal barbecues for grilling.

(Oops, sorry, that rhymed in French!)

Des moments de convivialité au camping Iscle de Prelles

And a lot of conviviality…

We’ve created a collective barbecue area that’s designed to be a place for sharing and rubbing shoulders, while keeping things simple. The barbecues are, of course, completely safe, and are enhanced by a large stretch tent housing wooden tables. There’s also a petanque court that can host 2 games simultaneously…

(Conviviality works in all languages…)

Better than words... photos...

A communal area…

There is no obligation in the rules to do any barbecuing, whether it’s to sit under the tent or pull out the petanque balls. In the end, this communal barbecue area is first and foremost a communal space, quite simply…

A covered area…

With 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s rare, but of course it does rain. So this shared barbecue area will also be of interest to touring hikers. When you’re travelling light, you’re sometimes glad to find a sheltered place to sit down, cook and eat.

And in winter ?

In winter, we remove the tent and cover the tables and barbecues. In concrete terms, we open the barbecues and set up the tables as soon as the snow stops, around the beginning of April. And we set up the tent at the beginning of May. As for the pétanque court, it’s accessible as soon as it’s no longer covered in snow…

So if you’re coming for a winter break, you might ask? No problem, you can’t wait for spring! If you fancy a barbecue on a fine winter’s day, we can lend you an individual barbecue…

Other services... and the snack bar...

I’m asked in the earpiece if this space has wifi? Absolutely! Wifi is available throughout the campsite. So you can share the cooking of your prime rib live on your networks.

While we’re on the subject of essential services, we also offer fresh bread, pastries and breakfast, laundry facilities in the communal toilets and 2 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles. When it comes to sustainable tourism, we’re certainly not perfect, but we do our best. Don’t hesitate to discover our eco-responsible commitments, and in particular our waste management

I’m also taking advantage of this page to advertise the campsite’s snack bar. Because if you can’t leave the campsite without having tasted Marcellin’s meat cooked over an open fire, it’s also a shame to leave the campsite without having dined at the snack bar. The menu is simple, but the food is hearty and tasty, homemade with mainly fresh, local produce… In the afternoon, from 3.30pm, it’s snack time. A Magnum double caramel or a Nutella crêpe is always good between 2 activities… It’s the perfect opportunity to take a break between a dip in the heated pool and a game of mini-golf. Or between a game of table tennis and a rematch of table football.

And who’s Marcellin? He’s the butcher in the village of Prelles, a 5-minute walk from the campsite. An institution for several generations, because as well as being butchers, they produce most of the meat they sell themselves…
