THE VERY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS…

Are pets allowed ? At what cost ? What are the rules ?

Yes, pets are allowed.

  • – Your dog must always be kept on a leash, never left alone, and you must always have a bag with you to pick up any food leftovers from the previous day !
  • – Your dog is allowed in all areas of the campsite, including the snack bar terrace and communal barbecue areas. However, please understand that your dog or cat is not allowed in the swimming pool or sanitary facilities.
  • – You must present their up-to-date vaccination certificate.
  • – A supplement of €3 per night per animal will be charged.
  • – Category 1 and 2 dogs are not accepted.
  • – Maximum 2 animals per booking.

These rules apply to both dogs and cats, but we have occasionally welcomed guests with ferrets. Whatever pet you have, please ask us and we will most likely give you permission to bring it with you.

We have a dog ourselves, Oxo. He is adorable, very cuddly, and will be delighted to welcome you with a big hug! He is also quite playful with other dogs…

What are the reception opening hours ?
  • It depends on the season. Reception is open:
  • In July and August, reception is open from 7.30am to 8pm. Open all day on Saturdays. Closed between 1pm and 2pm on other days.
  • From December to June and in September, reception is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

In case of late arrival or emergency, we live on site and can be reached 24 hours a day

What are the arrival and departure times ?
  • In general, the best practices for arrival and departure are as follows:
  • For a bare pitch, you can arrive from 2pm and depart until midday.
  • For rental accommodation, you can check in from 4pm and must depart before 10am.

In July and August, we are strict about these times. However, outside of the summer season, we are quite flexible, especially if there is no one arriving before and/or after you. Please do not hesitate to call us

What happens if I arrive after the reception has closed ?

Don’t panic! Don’t stress! And above all, don’t take any risks on the road!

There’s always a solution. Give us a call and we’ll tell you what to do.

Whatever your arrival time, your pitch, mobile home, chalet or unusual accommodation will be waiting for you. So you will be able to sleep at the campsite… However, in July and August, the gates close at 10 p.m. and all traffic is prohibited. You will be able to enter the campsite and settle in, but your vehicle will have to spend its first night in the public car park.

Is there Wi-Fi ?

It’s essential, so yes, of course, Wi-Fi is available throughout the campsite

Any idea about prices? And how do I make a booking ?

You always have the option of calling us. Don’t hesitate, we will be happy to help you plan your next stay.

Using our booking software, which is linked to our schedule, you can run simulations and access accurate rates based on your dates of stay and the number of people accompanying you. You can also make your booking independently at: https://reservation.secureholiday.net/en/3955/

Finally, for an idea of prices, you can consult our rates page: https://www.camping-iscledeprelles.com/en/rates-availability-reservations/

Can I have a map of the campsite ?

Yes, the campsite map is available to download by clicking here : Map of Iscle de Prelles campsite

Can I have visitors ?

Yes.

A visitor is defined as someone who, at reception, identifies themselves as coming to visit and spend the day with a guest staying at the campsite. In general, you are allowed to welcome visitors to your pitch. After visiting reception to identify themselves and pay a daily fee, they are entitled, like you, to use all the campsite facilities, including the swimming pool.

However, for insurance reasons, access to the campsite and its facilities is prohibited to any outsider who just wants to have a good time, take a dip or play a game of pétanque without being connected to someone staying at the campsite.

What happens if I need to cancel ?

We all hope that this does not happen. But it can happen.

There are two possible scenarios:

  • You have taken out cancellation insurance: after providing the insurance company with proof of the reason for cancelling your booking, Campez Couvert, the insurer, will reimburse you for all the money you have paid us. We strongly advise you to take out this insurance when you make your booking. Click here to find out all about this insurance… The cost is 2.9% of the total cost of your stay.
  • You have not taken out cancellation insurance: our General Terms and Conditions of Sale apply. I would like to point out that these GTC are written in legal language, and that we are obviously much more open-minded than these GTC might suggest! The essentials are as follows:
  •    -> if you cancel more than 60 days before arrival, we will refund you
  •    -> if you cancel between 60 and 30 days before arrival, you will lose the 30% deposit you paid when you made your booking
  •    -> if you cancel less than 30 days before your arrival, you will lose all the money you have paid.

Campsite activities and entertainment…

Are the activities and entertainment at the campsite free of charge ?

Yes, of course. All activities, entertainment and, in general, all the campsite facilities are free to use.

We also lend you the equipment you need to have fun… Need a ball, table tennis bats or boules? Just pop into reception…

What activities are available at the campsite ?

There is something for everyone.

  • If a keyword leads to a link, it means that a dedicated page on our website tells you everything you need to know about the activity in question:
  • – The heated swimming pool, with a weekly aquagym session in July and August.
  • – The pétanque courts, with a weekly tournament in July and August.
  • Mini golf.
  • – The playground with a trampoline and table tennis tables.
  • – An area for ball games, including home ball
  • – The library and games room.
  • Table football.
  • – The communal barbecue area with its large tent and picnic tables.
  • – The kids’ club and campfire for teenagers.
Is there a kids' club and supervised activities for teenagers ?

Yes. But we are a simple, family-friendly campsite, not a holiday club. The supervised activities for children are therefore simple and family-oriented, designed to help children and teenagers get to know each other and have fun together.

For 4 to 10 year olds, there is the mini club. Games, building workshops, dressing up and face painting sessions, treasure hunts, and of course the unmissable water fights… Each week, an educational theme brings together fun and creative activities… Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 12pm…

From the age of 11, teenagers get to know each other around the campfire. Once they get over their natural shyness, teenagers don’t need adults to organise challenges and spend hours saying nothing to each other! So to help them overcome their shyness, every Sunday evening after the welcome drink, we take the teenagers out of the campsite, build a campfire on the banks of the Durance and they make friends for an hour and a half while roasting marshmallows and playing games… Mission accomplished!

What kind of entertainment is there ?

We are a simple campsite with a reputation for being fairly quiet

Generally speaking, activities take place during the peak summer season and are completely free of charge:

When are the children's club and teen campfire dates ?

In 2026, supervised activities for children will take place from Monday 6 July to Sunday 23 August:

  • – The mini-club welcomes children aged 4 to 10 from Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 12pm.
  • – The campfire for teenagers aged 11 and over takes place every Sunday from 7pm, after the welcome drink. The concept is simple: a campfire, teenagers gathered around it, little games to get to know each other and marshmallows to roast…
Is the mini golf course free to use ?

Yes. The mini golf course is free to use. You will find clubs and balls in a small hut nearby. The only thing we ask is that you respect the equipment and remember that mini golf is just a game

  • This dual principle of freedom and respect governs the entire campsite:
  • – in general, everything is free and open to all…
  • – in return, we ask that you respect other holidaymakers, respect the equipment, and respect our work and that of our seasonal staff…
Is there a nightclub on the campsite ?

Nooooo !!!! That’s not the kind of campsite we are… And if you’re planning on partying, I suggest you choose another campsite…

In fact, one of the essential rules at Iscle de Prelles is “at 10 p.m… silence…”. We are a campsite with a reputation for being quiet, and a long hike often requires getting up very early. From 10 p.m. onwards, you are of course not obliged to sleep, but your neighbour has the right to sleep…

Is there a welcome drink ?

Yes. Every Sunday in July and August, at 6pm, the snack bar hosts the welcome drink, which is divided into three parts:

  • We tell you about the campsite, the activities and the services. We talk to you about freedom and respect, which are the two essential rules at Iscle de Prelles. Finally, because the mountains are a majestic but also dangerous environment, we talk to you about safety
  • Our various activity partners will introduce themselves and talk about their respective services. Rafting, canyoning, paragliding, mountain biking… the welcome drink will be an opportunity for you to plan any activities for your stay.
  • – Finally, we’ll take care of the welcome drink! While you get to know your neighbours, you’ll enjoy a local speciality accompanied by an exclusive cocktail

Focus on the swimming pool…

When is the swimming pool open ?

The swimming pool is open from mid-May to mid-September.

Throughout the opening period, the water is heated to between 27 and 29°C. Most of the time, the pool is uncovered so guests can enjoy the sun and the 360° view of the mountains. However, on rainy days or when the outside temperature is cool, the pool is covered so guests can enjoy it in all weathers.

What are the swimming pool opening hours ?
  • From mid-May to mid-June, the swimming pool is generally only open in the afternoon.
  • From mid-June onwards, the swimming pool is open from 10am to 8pm every day.
Is the swimming pool heated ?

Yes.

And we are committed to staying within the range of 27 to 29°C. In reality, we tend to stay around 27–28°C until the end of June, especially when the outside temperatures remain cool. And at 29 or even 30°C from July onwards, when the sun is strong and, above all, the nights are less cool.

Is the swimming pool covered ?

Yes. But it is usually uncovered during opening hours to enjoy the sun and the 360° view of the mountains.

The telescopic enclosure was installed in 2023. This was a significant investment, coupled with new heat pumps, with the fourfold objective of being able to open the pool in all weathers, heat it more efficiently, protect it better from the cool night air, and save money at the same time !

Are there any slides ?
Is the swimming pool supervised ?

No.

Swimming is at your own risk, and children are the responsibility of their parents.

Is the swimming pool accessible to guests?

Yes. If you have registered visitors on your pitch, they will be able to access the swimming pool as well as all the other facilities on the campsite.

Please note that visitors must pay a daily fee.

Are swimming shorts permitted ?

In principle, no. If you have forgotten your swimsuit, reception will certainly be able to find one in your size.

This is not to be difficult, but to preserve the quality of the water… The problem with swimming shorts is not that they are shorts, but that they are potentially worn all day long and are therefore potentially dirty or even very dirty! We do sometimes make exceptions to the rule, if you guarantee that you will ONLY wear your swimming shorts for swimming…

Campsite facilities…

Are barbecues permitted ?

Barbecues are an integral part of holidays in general and camping holidays in particular… So don’t worry, you’ll have the opportunity to cook your meat, fish and vegetables on a barbecue…

  • Individual charcoal barbecues are not allowed on your pitch for safety reasons, which you will easily understand. However, you can enjoy a barbecue in a dedicated area that we provide, with 3 large communal barbecues, a large tent, picnic tables and even a pétanque court. In winter, when the communal area is covered in snow, we can lend you an individual barbecue.
  • Gas or electric barbecues and planchas are permitted on your pitch or near your rental accommodation.
Is there a communal barbecue area ?

Yeeeeees ! And more generally, it’s a space for socialising. This area includes 3 large communal barbecues. But to ensure you have a great time with family or friends, as well as getting to know other holidaymakers, you’ll also find a pétanque court, a large marquee and picnic tables.

This area is, of course, completely free to use.

Is there a bakery service or bread delivery service ?

Yes. Bread, pastries, and a full breakfast

  • In July and August, the artisan baker from Prelles delivers bread and pastries to us every morning. Please note that you will need to place your order the day before… and you can pick up your order from 7:30 am.
  • The rest of the year, we are also equipped to offer you a full breakfast, including bread and pastries. They are frozen, but we have tasted several ranges and selected the best of the best
Do you offer breakfast ?

Yes.

If you order your breakfast the day before, we will take care of everything! Half a baguette, a pastry, butter, jam, a hot drink and fruit juice, all for €6.50.

Is there a laundrette ?

Yes.

You will find the laundry room in the main sanitary facilities of the campsite, which are open all year round. The laundry room has 2 washing machines and 1 tumble dryer. The machines operate using tokens, which you can collect from reception.

Tokens cost €5 each.

When are the snack bar and bar open ?

The snack bar is open during the summer high season. It usually opens on the last Friday in June and closes at the beginning of September:

  • At teatime, you can enjoy ice cream and pancakes,
  • At aperitif time, you can review your day or plan the next one over a drink,
  • At dinner time, you can enjoy simple but homemade dishes made with mainly local produce.

And:

  • All year round, you will find cold and hot drinks at reception, as well as pizzas and ready-made meals for dinner. It’s just a stopgap, but it can be useful…
  • In the event of sporting events outside of July and August, such as the 2026 Football World Cup, we will broadcast most of the matches and open the bar for the occasion…
Do you hire out bicycles ?

Yes. But be careful, these bikes are not designed for mountain riding! We mainly rent bikes for children so that they can play with their friends on the campsite.

Do you have a first aid mini-market ?

Yes. There is a mini-market at reception where you can buy essential items:

  • Everything you need for breakfast: coffee, milk, butter, jam, etc.
  • Everything you need for an aperitif, of course: cold drinks, peanuts, pâté, sausage, etc.
  • – A full range of ready-made meals in jars.
  • Pasta and rice.
  • – Not forgetting the most essential of essentials: toilet paper!
Is there Wi-Fi throughout the campsite ? Is it free ?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available throughout the campsite.

You can connect to Wi-Fi anywhere on the campsite, from your pitch, your rental accommodation, the swimming pool, the snack bar or the barbecue area.

Wi-Fi is free at all times except during the summer months. In July and August, Wi-Fi costs €1 per day for two devices. Why? To guarantee excellent service quality… During peak periods, we have opted for paid Wi-Fi in order to limit the number of users and guarantee a satisfactory connection.

I would also like to point out that 4G and 5G mobile network coverage is excellent throughout the campsite… If you have a generous data plan, you won’t need Wi-Fi…

Can I hire a baby kit ?

Yes, you can travel light. We will provide a travel bed and high chair. It is best to book in advance to ensure that at least one of our kits is available. The rate is €4 per day.

Do you have an electric vehicle charging station ?

Yes, there are even 2, for 2 vehicles that can charge simultaneously at 11Kw/h.

In recent years, we have started to see more and more vehicles charging from standard campsite sockets, which is extremely dangerous. In order to formally prohibit this practice, we have been offering a completely safe alternative since 2023…

How is the rubbish room organised ?

The recycling area is located in the car park at the entrance to the campsite. There are 2 containers for household waste, 2 containers for packaging, 1 container for glass, and 2 compost bins for your organic waste.

It operates in three shifts and is therefore organised to accept your waste 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is there a ski storage room in winter ?

Among our winter services for your ski equipment, we offer the following:

  • – You can leave your skis at the library. If you are renting accommodation, you can also store them in a locker on each terrace.
  • For ski boots, ski suits and other appropriate clothing, there is a dedicated drying area in the sanitaries.

Everything about our rentals, chalets, mobile homes and unusual accommodation…

What are the different types of rental ?

We offer 3 types of accommodation:

Comfortable, well-insulated chalets, which allow us to welcome you in winter as well as in spring and summer. They have a covered terrace and, of course, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

Mobile homes for stays from spring onwards. We offer a whole range of mobile homes, from the “comfort” range with an integrated terrace and bay window, to the “eco” range of more rustic mobile homes, and the “leisure” range, which are comfortable with a large terrace covered by an arbour.

Unusual accommodations that we also call cabins but which are actually Finnish kotas. One of them is luxurious, with a beautiful family shower and a private Nordic bath on the terrace! The others are comfortable, but please note that there is no water, so you will need to use the campsite’s shared sanitary facilities…

Are bed linen and towels provided ?

No, sheets are not provided, nor are towels. That said, if you are travelling light or have forgotten your sheets, don’t worry, we have sheet and towel kits available for you

Blankets and pillows are of course provided.

Are blankets and pillows provided ?

Yes. And as much as you like! However, please note that bed linen is not provided.

Is cleaning included in the price of my rental ?

No, but we offer a “cleaning option” for €70.

Upon arrival, you will find a clean and fully functional rental property… In principle, you are responsible for cleaning your chalet, mobile home or unusual cabin at the end of your stay. We do, of course, come back between rentals to prepare each accommodation to our quality standards, but we expect you to clean the living room, bedrooms, toilets and bathroom, empty the fridge, wash the dishes and, of course, empty the rubbish bin.

Do I need to make an appointment for a departure inventory ?

Yes. But don’t worry, we’ll remind you when you arrive. That said, this isn’t an inventory in the strict sense of the word. We practise the “right to break things” ! Everyone breaks a glass or a plate from time to time, and no one will hold it against you.

Inventories are really just an opportunity to chat! When you arrive, we mainly check that you’re settled in, and when you leave, we check that you’ve had a great stay… When you leave, we also check that you’ve cleaned and done the washing up 😉.

Do we have to pay a deposit ?

Yes, when booking a rental, we will ask you for a deposit of €250 upon arrival at the campsite. You do not actually pay it, as it is not debited from your account, and we will return it to you when you leave.

We do not carry out an inventory in the strict sense of the word, in that we do not count the glasses! Breaking one or two glasses happens! We will not hold it against you and we will not charge you anything. Just let us know and we will replace them so that the next guest does not notice…

  • However:
  • – If the property is not cleaned, we will retain the equivalent of the cleaning fee.
  • – If you have smashed the television, cut up the mattresses or torn the curtains, your deposit may be affected!
Can I park my vehicle next to my mobile home, chalet or kota ?

Yes, there is space on each rental plot to park your vehicle.

Can I add a tent next to my rental accommodation ?

In principle, yes. The main thing is that you do not exceed the total number of people allowed on the pitch.

For example, for a 6-person mobile home, the number of people in the mobile home + the tent must not exceed 6. And you may find that you no longer have room to park your car. In any case, if you wish to set up equipment next to your mobile home, chalet or unusual kota, it is best to call us to check that the accommodation we have allocated to you can accommodate one additional tent.

How are mobile homes equipped ?

We offer a wide range of mobile homes. Here are the links that will take you to the descriptions of each of our categories:

  • Esprit Montagne: our most recent mobile homes, representing our ‘comfort’ range,
  • Titania and Super Mercure: our intermediate range, the ‘leisure’ range,
  • Ophéa and SansO: our ‘eco’ range, more rustic but still with a furnished outdoor area.
How are the chalets equipped ?

The chalets are the best-equipped rentals on the campsite. They are perfectly insulated, ensuring a comfortable stay even in the depths of winter when temperatures drop very low. Each chalet has a fully integrated covered terrace. Separate bathroom and toilet. The kitchens are fully equipped. Most have a real oven in addition to a microwave, and some even have a dishwasherCoffee maker, kettle… The only thing missing is a toaster, which is not provided.

To find out more about the facilities in each chalet, follow the links below:

How are unusual accommodations equipped ?

Finnish kotas, used by Inuit fishermen among others, are huts decorated and furnished for more or less adventurous destinations. Please note that most of these huts do not have running water, so you will need to use the campsite’s shared bathroom facilities.

Each kota has a small kitchen area with a fridge, coffee maker, kettle and stove.

To find out more about the facilities available in each of these unusual accommodations, follow the links below:

Are there any rentals with air conditioning ?

No. None of the rentals are equipped with air conditioning. Quite simply because in the mountains, at an altitude of 1,100 metres, it’s unnecessary! However, there is heating, which can be much more useful.

At Iscle de Prelles, the word “heatwave” does not exist. It can get very hot during the day, yes, but in all cases, absolutely all cases, the temperature drops at night. Even in the height of summer, it is rare for the temperature to exceed 15°C at night… Which is why, on the other hand, we provide you with unlimited blankets 😉.

Don’t worry, you’ll sleep well…

Is there a television in the rentals ?

Yes, most rentals have a television. Only the Ophéa and SansO ‘eco’ mobile homes are not equipped with a television. There is also no television in the unusual accommodation options, including the luxurious Destination Finland.

You will find details of the facilities available in each rental accommodation on their dedicated pages. Before booking, please check that your rental accommodation has the facilities you require.

Are the chalets insulated for winter ?

Yes. Not only are the chalets perfectly insulated, but since 2023 they have been equipped with new-generation radiators, which consume less energy and provide particularly pleasant heat

Everything about pitches, sanitary facilities, waste disposal…

What is the size of the pitches ?

Each pitch is at least 80m². Overall, the pitches are a good size, more than enough to accommodate a family of campers. However, depending on your equipment, you will obviously be more or less comfortable on a larger or smaller pitch.

  • We offer 2 categories of pitches in terms of size:
  • Standard pitches: between 80 and 100m²
  • Comfort pitches: over 100m²
What is the difference between ‘standard’ and ‘comfort’ pitches ?

The only difference between the 2 categories of pitches is their size. Standard pitches are between 80 and 100m², while comfort pitches are over 100m².

Otherwise, there is no difference… All pitches have electricity and none have water connections. Shade or sun? Grass or gravel? Close to or far from the sanitary facilities, the swimming pool or the snack bar? Whatever your criteria, depending on availability, we will do our utmost to meet them in either the standard or comfort category.

What is the difference between caravan pitches, motorhome pitches and tent pitches ?

None! Whether you are looking for a pitch for your tent, a pitch for your motorhome or van, or a pitch for your caravan, no pitches are reserved for a particular type of camper.

That said, we know our pitches, and some are more suited to one type of camping than another. Don’t worry, if you’re camping in a tent, we’ll choose a grassy pitch for you…

How are the pitches marked out ?

We are fans of natural boundaries. So trees mark the corners of the pitches.

There are no hedges, and each pitch is open to its neighbours. The pitches are large, and our philosophy as a family campsite is not to be on top of each other but with each other.

Can I hire a fridge ?

Yes, you can. In the height of summer, it is best to book in advance… Upon arrival, you will find it on your pitch, and when you leave, after carefully emptying and cleaning it, you can leave it on the pitch…

The price is €9 for the first day and €5 for each subsequent day.

Do all pitches have electrical connections ?

Yes. Regardless of your location, you will be able to connect to electricity. I often say that connecting to electricity is simply a matter of cable length… So if your cable is too short, don’t panic, we will lend you one of the right length. What’s more, if you also need an adapter, I have no doubt that we will be able to help you out…

It’s best to request electricity when you make your booking, but you can also decide on the spot. You can also choose between a 4, 6 or 10 amp connection.

Do you hire out electrical adapters ?

Yes. But we lend them, we don’t rent them…

Generally speaking, we believe that if you want an electrical connection, it is our responsibility to connect you, by any means necessary! It’s a kind of obligation to achieve a result.

So even if you arrive with a 1m Japanese plug, we will provide the necessary adapters and extension cords so that you can charge your phones, turn on the lights or make yourself a cup of coffee on your pitch.

How do I know how many amps I need for my electrical connection ?

Excellent question! To answer it, let’s go back to secondary school, to a physics and chemistry lesson on a rainy, freezing day when we were taught how to calculate electrical power! At the time, it was hard to imagine that this formula would be useful for camping. And yet it is!

  • Here is the formula: P = U x I
  • Where P represents power, in watts.
  • Where U represents voltage, in volts.
  • And where I represents current, in amps.
  • So, assuming that the voltage at our terminals is 230 volts, the answer to the question is:
  • 4 amps will allow you to connect an appliance up to 4 x 230, i.e. 920 watts -> the minimum for the base, fridge, lights, chargers…
  • 6 amps will allow you to connect an appliance up to 6 x 230, i.e. 1380 watts -> a small coffee machine, a small griddle or a small heater…
  • 10 amp will allow you to connect an appliance up to 10 x 230, or 2300 Watts -> a kettle, a hairdryer, most electric hobs…
Can I choose my pitch ?

To put it simply, yes… and no! In fact, it simply depends on availability.

In low season, upon your arrival, we will offer you a few pitches that may suit you, and you can then choose the one that suits you best.

In July and August, as the campsite fills up, it becomes impossible to juggle between several pitches when you arrive. However, we can discuss your pitch in advance when you make your booking.

  • Let’s say you absolutely want a shaded pitch. There are 3 possible scenarios:
  • We no longer have any shaded pitches available at the time of your booking. We will inform you of this and cancel your booking, or not, depending on your decision.
  • We still have shaded pitches available. We will therefore confirm your booking. And we guarantee that you will find a shaded pitch on arrival, free of charge.
  • Among the shaded pitches we have left, you tell us that you would ideally like one close to the swimming pool but far from the communal barbecue, and neither too far nor too close to the sanitary facilities. We will then work with you to find a specific pitch that will be waiting for you on arrival. This option will be charged at €18.
Is there a motorhome service area ?

No. Not yet… at least not a service area in the strict sense of the word.

At the campsite, you can empty your toilet cassette and fill up with water, but you cannot empty your grey water.

There is a service area for motorhomes in Briançon.

How are the sanitary facilities equipped ?

There are 4 toilet blocks spread across the park:

The main toilet block, open all year round and heated in winter. In addition to showers, toilets, washbasins and sinks, these toilet blocks also have baby changing facilities and disabled access. These sanitary facilities also have a laundry room with 2 washing machines and 1 tumble dryer.

The 3 other sanitary blocks open as the campsite fills up. They are more basic than the main sanitary facilities but have all the essentials: they are functional, clean and have hot water.

Are there tokens for the shower ?

No. The pitch fee includes unlimited use of the sanitary facilities and all other campsite facilities. No tokens, no wristbands, and, generally speaking, no restrictions

Activities and events around the campsite…

Is there a Tourist Office ?

Yes, there are even several…

Starting with the campsite… The campsite reception is actually an outpost of the Serre Chevalier and Pays des Ecrins Tourist Offices. We can guide you towards hikes suited to what you are looking for and advise you on the many activities available to explore…

In L’Argentière-la-Bessée and Vallouise, you will be welcomed by the Pays des Ecrins Tourist Offices. In Briançon, Chantemerle and La Salle les Alpes, the Tourist Offices will tell you everything you need to know about the Serre Chevalier and La Clarée valleys.

Can you recommend any hiking trails ?

Yes, of course.

There are so many hikes available in the five valleys surrounding us that it is impossible to know them all, but depending on the level of difficulty you are looking for, the elevation gains or distances you want to cover, and the points of interest you are aiming for, we will always have some good hiking ideas to suggest

How can I find the schedule of events and animations for my stay ?

The easiest way is to consult the tourist office websites directly. Events and activities are updated regularly, so the closer you get to your holiday dates, the more accurate and comprehensive the information will be…

What are the main activities in the region during the summer ?

It’s a real mix of activities! There’s something for everyone…

I hike, you hike, we hike! The hardest part will be choosing which hike to take to get some fresh air and take in the stunning views while getting some exercise… And what’s more, it’s free!

  • Otherwise, we could mention the following activities. For most of them, we have selected a local partner:
  • White water sports, starting with rafting.
  • Road cycling to climb the same passes as the Tour de France professionals, and its cousin mountain biking to hurtle down natural slopes.
  • Climbing, canyoning and via ferrata to become one with the mountains.
  • Paragliding for an adrenaline rush and truly breathtaking views.
  • Discovering a glacier, spending a night in a bivouac or going on a hike to explore the wildlife
  • – Not forgetting, of course, a little relaxation, for example in the naturally warm waters of the Grands Bains du Monetier.
  • – And let’s not forget activities such as tree climbing, bowling, ice skating, swimming
Hiking ?

A whole programme! Dozens and dozens of marked trails. From walks for the whole family to technical trails for experienced hikers, there really is something for everyone…

We can of course advise you at reception, but you can also select your hikes on apps such as Visorando or AllTrails, or even via the Komoot community.

Looking for a guided hike? Want to get off the beaten track? Want to explore the flora and fauna? Our partner Bureau Montagne Briançon is here to help

Climbing ?

The Hautes Alpes in general, but Briançon and the Pays des Ecrins in particular, are world leaders in rock climbing. Less than 30 minutes away by car, there are around 50 climbing sites for all levels of ability waiting for you…

The campsite itself is overlooked by Le Rocher Baron, a famous climbing spot accessible on foot, although you’ll need strong calves to climb with your equipment…

The Briançon Climb, a comprehensive guide to climbing routes in Briançon, which is 349 pages long, is available for consultation at reception

Canyoning and via ferrata ?

The common feature of these two activities is that you will discover gorges that are often inaccessible by hiking alone. With canyoning, you will explore the gorges from below, while with via ferrata, you will gain height.

In both cases, adrenaline and thrills are guaranteed. Our partner, Bureau Montagne Briançon, can accompany you.

Road bike or mountain bike ?

Those who practise one sport are not necessarily practitioners of the other, but whether you are a fan of one or the other, the Briançonnais region is an absolute must-visit destination for two-wheelers

  • For road cycling, do I need to introduce you to the Col du Galibier? The Col de l’Izoard? The Col du Granon? 3 legendary passes from the Tour de France… But to warm up, you can cycle up to Pré de Madame Carles or venture into the Vallée de la Clarée or the Vallée des Fonts de Cervières
  • For mountain biking, all the valleys now have marked trails dedicated to mountain biking, just as they do for hiking. There are five valleys around us to discover by mountain bike, taking the scenic route… And if you only want to go downhill, no problem, whether in Serre Chevalier or Puy Saint Vincent, some ski lifts are open in summer. And with your pass, you’ll get a map of the mountain bike trails… classified according to their difficulty by colour: green, blue, red or black!

Our partner Serre Che VTT can offer you guidance. In particular, they offer a safe descent of the Galibier via the old road, which has since been covered over and is now completely hidden from view! A must-do.

White water sports ?

Rafting needs no introduction, whether you enjoy it with family or friends. An inflatable mattress surrounded by a large inflatable tube, and off you go, hurtling down rivers at varying speeds…

Our partner Rafiki Rafting will accompany you in all your white water sports. In particular, they offer a family outing, for ages 5 and up, where you can have fun on the boat, but without the risk of falling in, and with a break for roasted marshmallows…

  • Among the white water sports you can also try :
  • Air boating, a kind of inflatable canoe,
  • Hydrospeed, where you literally dive into the river equipped with a float and fins,
  • Kayaking, which needs no introduction…
  • And fishing! Yes, really! I guarantee that tackling the trout that swim up the Durance river alongside the campsite is a real white water sport!
Paragliding ?

If you want to get up high… take flight! To discover the valleys from a different angle, there’s nothing like flying over them… Absolute calm, a feeling of both power and fragility, no doubt about it, you will feel the majesty of the landscapes passing before you

Depending on weather conditions, wind strength and direction, our partner Origin’Air can offer you a paragliding baptism from Puy Saint Vincent, Col du Granon or Montgenèvre…

Horse riding ?

This isn’t specifically a mountain activity, but holidays can be an opportunity to try horse riding for the first time or go on a horseback ride. Our partner Haute Durance Equitation offers a range of options for beginners and experienced riders alike…

Looking for something a little more original? You might prefer a ride in the company of an alpaca…!

The discovery of a glacier ?

They are melting! But they remain majestic! Reason would dictate that glaciers should be excluded from all commercial exploitation, but setting foot on a glacier is always a unique experience. So it’s difficult to find a happy medium.

  • I can mention 2 iconic glaciers in our region:
  • Accessible on foot: the Glacier Blanc. It is the longest glacier in the Ecrins National Park. It is also the best known and most visited because it is fairly easy to access if you are reasonably fit.
  • Accessible by cable car: the Glacier de la Meije. Set foot on a glacier without breaking a sweat! Take the cable car of the same name and you’ll arrive at the foot of the glacier in no time…
And to relax ?

There’s plenty to do!

And not least among them is the Grands Bains du Mônetier. Naturally warm water that flows at 44°C! A spa complex which, in addition to an indoor pool, offers a large outdoor pool with an exceptional panoramic view, a sauna, a hammam, and a Roman trilogy that takes you from a 40°C bath to a 16°C bath via a 30–32°C bath… Invigorating! Not to mention a musical grotto, a mineral pool, hot marble

Winter activities ?

Our valleys now offer a wide range of winter activities. We no longer talk about skiing holidays, but snow holidays…

  • It is impossible to be exhaustive, but we can mention in particular:
  • Downhill skiing in the resorts of Serre Chevalier, Puy Saint Vincent and Montgenèvre,
  • Cross-country skiing in the marked areas of Névache, Val des Prés, Pelvoux and Cervières,
  • Sledging, particularly down the Col de l’Izoard,
  • Snowshoeing on dedicated trails,
  • Ski joëring (pulled by a horse) or mushing (pulled by dogs),
  • – Safe ice climbing,
  • – Motor sports such as ice karting.
  • – Extreme relaxation at the Grands Bains du Mônetier spa.
  • – A cryotherapy session.
  • – A giant zip line.
  • Bowling, ice skating and much more.
  • – And of course, to recharge your batteries, culinary specialities based on local charcuterie and cheeses.

Payment methods, taxes and cancellation policy…

What are the payment methods ?

We are retailers, so we accept all forms of payment 😊! This applies to both the campsite and the snack bar…

  • Before your stay, you can pay the deposit and/or balance for your booking online via your ‘holidaymaker area’, by bank transfer or cheque.
  • On arrival at reception, or during your stay, you can pay by credit card, cheque or cash.
What do the taxes correspond to ?

There are 2 different taxes, which are cumulative and calculated per night and per adult:

  • Tourist tax: This goes directly to local authorities with the aim of developing tourism in their respective areas. The tourist tax, set by the Pays des Ecrins Community of Communes, and therefore paid directly to it, is €0.60 per adult per night + 10% additional departmental tax, giving a total of €0.66 per adult per night.
  • Environmental contribution: Set at €0.44 per adult per night, this contribution finances taxes related to waste collection and sanitation, for example.
Is it possible to change a booking ?

Yes, of course, within reason and subject to availability. Change your dates, stay a little longer or a little shorter, change your pitch or rental category… anything is possible. The best thing to do is give us a call.

What are the cancellation terms ?

If you have not taken out cancellation insurance, the cancellation conditions are as follows:

  • For cancellations more than 60 days before arrival -> we will refund the full amount paid,
  • For cancellations between 60 and 30 days prior to arrival -> you will lose the 30% deposit you paid when you made your booking.
  • For cancellations less than 30 days prior to arrival -> you will lose all sums paid.
Do you offer cancellation insurance ? What does it cover ?

Yes. More exactly, we offer holiday insurance from Campez Couvert, the leading and essential insurer for outdoor accommodation.

This insurance, which costs 2.9% of the total cost of your stay, covers much more than just the cancellation of your stay with us. It is insurance that covers you before, during and even after your stay! We strongly recommend that you take it out

  • Before your stay: Do you have a valid reason for cancelling? Whether this reason is personal, family-related or work-related, you will be refunded the full amount you have already paid. Don’t want to cancel completely but will be arriving two days late? You will be refunded on a pro rata basis…
  • During your stay: Has your vehicle broken down during your stay? You will be provided with a replacement vehicle. Does your pet need treatment because it is ill or injured? The insurance will cover the veterinary costs…
  • After your stay: Have you forgotten your souvenirs? The insurance will cover the cost of sending them to you…

Accessibility…

How far is the campsite from Briançon ?

The campsite is 5 km from the entrance to Briançon.

  • – It takes 5 minutes to reach the shopping area, which includes all the food and leisure stores such as Carrefour, Decathlon and Action.
  • – It takes 7 minutes to reach the lower part of Briançon, the newer part of town, with the Prorel cable car, weekly markets, cinema, restaurants, etc.
  • – It takes 10 minutes to reach the Champ de Mars car park, the starting point for visiting the upper town and its ramparts, as well as the Vauban citadel, which is a must-see.
How far is the campsite from the ski resorts ?
  • For downhill skiing:
  • – The closest resort is 7 minutes away. At the entrance to Briançon, the Prorel cable car gives you access to the entire Serre Chevalier ski area. Access is very easy and you can park in a large underground car park.
  • – The family resort of Puy Saint Vincent is 20-25 minutes away.
  • – The resorts of Montgenèvre and Pelvoux are 30 minutes away.

For cross-country skiing, there are numerous starting points within a 15-30 minute radius of the campsite, in the Clarée valley at Val des Prés or Névache, at Cervières or at Pelvoux.

Is there a supermarket nearby ?

Yes. There is a Lidl supermarket 1 km away, easily accessible on foot along the small path by the Durance river.

You will also find a shopping area at the entrance to Briançon, a 5-minute drive away, with all the essential shops you could need! Briançon is a real town with 12,000 inhabitants.

Is the campsite accessible to People with Reduced Mobility (PRM) ?

Yes. If you are a camper with reduced mobility staying on a pitch in a tent, motorhome or caravan, you will have access to all pitches and communal facilities, with the exception of the swimming pool, which only has standard steps. A ramp provides access to the reception area and main toilet facilities, which have a PRM cubicle.

However, the campsite does not have any mobile homes or rental accommodation with PRM certification.

Is the campsite accessible by public transport?

To answer this question, we need to differentiate between two things:

  • To get to the campsite, yes, there is no problem with public transport. Briançon is served by train. If you arrive by train, we will pick you up at the station
  • However, getting around independently once you are there is more complicated. If you do not have a vehicle, assume that there are no buses. On the other hand, especially in high season, hitchhiking at the campsite gate ensures that you will be picked up very quickly by another holidaymaker… Mutual assistance is also part of the camping spirit
