Selective sorting and compost: a whole programme for your waste
What if we were even more eco-responsible on holiday? In any case, we encourage you to sort… Glass, packaging, household waste, compost and bulky items… when it comes to selective sorting, we’ve thought of everything!
So obviously, the dustbin room and waste management aren’t the most glamorous of subjects! And yet it’s a universal subject: everyone creates waste. It’s a bit like the page on sanitary installations, it’s not the sexiest page, but everyone goes to the… well, you get the idea!

Highly selective sorting
To manage your rubbish and simplify selective sorting, everything is in one place, in the visitors’ car park at the entrance to the campsite, next to the electric vehicle charging points:
- 2 moloks for packaging,
- 2 moloks for household waste,
- 1 molok for glass,
- 2 compost bins.
Bulky items
For your refill or your empty gas bottle, as well as any bulky items you may have, such as the folding armchair that didn’t go down well the last time it was folded, or the arbour that, after 17 years of loyal service, is starting to leak, you can ask reception to take them in charge.
Depending on the situation, we will either take them to the waste collection centre or entrust them to La Miraille, a recycling centre, to try to give them a new life…

The henhhouse
For some of your organic waste, particularly vegetable peelings, the hens will be very happy if you come and see them regularly…. That’s what a family campsite on a human scale is all about.
You can leave your peelings in a container, and every morning the children, at the start of the children’s club, feed the hens… You’ll see that they’re not short of food in high season!
Focus on compost...

Composting has been around for thousands of years!
Simply put, the principle of composting is to transform organic waste into natural fertiliser. Composting is an age-old practice, so simple and natural is it?
Turning food waste into fertile soil, effortlessly and at no cost, is almost self-evident.

It’s compulsory !
Composting is now compulsory!
Local authorities are obliged to offer their residents a composting system. Tourist accommodation is obliged to offer holidaymakers a system for collecting their organic waste. And restaurant owners are obliged to recycle their compostable waste.
Otherwise? Anything more cheerful?
You’re right! Now that you know all about selective sorting and composting at the Iscle de Prelles campsite, you can visit some of the more interesting pages, such as the heated swimming pool, the mini-golf course, the snack bar and, in general, all the services and all the activities you can enjoy at the campsite but also outside, in Briançon or in one of the 5 valleys in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
Finally, a little tip: on your way back from the rubbish bin, you’ll pass the campsite reception. It’s the perfect place to order fresh bread for the next day, buy tokens for the laundry or find out about the wifi, collective barbecues or pétanque tournament…
